SPCA  I have chosen the SPCA charity because they help animals that are in need. They help hurt and lost animals including pets and wild animals like pigs and boars and sort of animals like that. They also make animals healthy and then you can adopt them.

Week 1 Day 1 Activity 2 SLJ

I Speak English most of the time because I don't know that much Maori.  My Family is Maori and Nz European. My Dad's side of the family is Nz European and my Mum's side of the family is Maori.

10 Food Items That I would Take For 3 Weeks At Sea

If I went our to sea for 3 weeks I would only pack healthy food. I wouldn't pack unhealthy food because it could make me sick and that wouldn't be good. I packed Bread to make for breakfast and sometimes Lunch.

Our Recycled Art Presentation

At the start of this term we started a piece of artwork it is called Recycled Art. I am in a group of 4. We were doing our art on a bird house. There is a lot of other groups doing it. Our group is also doing some cactus rocks and beer bottle cap flowers too. This is our Documentation I hope you enjoy.

Calendar Art

This is our Calendar art  that we did this term. First we had to draw what we wanted to be on our calendar. Then we decided if we wanted paint or dye, I chose dye. After I had to outline my picture with crayon and then I coloured some parts with crayon and then I dyed the rest of my picture.

Photography

Last week when Mrs Minahim  came in she told us about a website that removes the background from the image. Then we had to come up with 5 pictures and we had to put yourself in the pictures it was really fun. we had to make it look like we were actually where the picture was taken. it was faux photography.

My Favourite Poem

This year in my free time I have been going onto a slideshow and trying to think of a poem. So far I have 10 poems. This is my favourite poem so far. I make up my poems by myself just by looking at something and then a poem pops into my head.

Virtual realty class trip

This term we have been learning about Kate Valley Landfill. We went on a virtual reality class trip. We watched 3 Webinars about Kate Valley Landfill. I learnt lots of thing I never knew before and we added stuff that we learnt to our pool of knowledge.

Mindfulness Colouring

Every reading time after we do our reading tasks we are allowed to do our can do's. One of our can do's is mindfulness colouring. Mindfulness colouring is a picture that you can colour in this is the one that I chose.

SRA

 Our class does something called SRA it is a little book. First you have to read the story then answer the tasks, there is about 33 questions. you have to do Vocabulary, Comprehension and Word Study. Those are the three different parts. There are different kinds of levels I am on Rose you get 15 booklets. Sometimes they can be easy and sometimes they can be tricky. We have to record our SRA results.

My Holiday

This is my Holiday writing from the 2 weeks holiday we just had. I had lots of fun during the holidays and I liked writing about it. I think next time I could work on making my paragraphs a bit smaller. What did you do in your holiday?

My Roald Dahl Art

When the year 5 and 6 students were away at camp we did some work around the BFG. On Wednesday when Mrs Swinburn came in to teach us she said that since we were doing work around  the BFG we could do some Roald Dahl artwork. We had to make up our own characters it was a bit trick at first because I didn't know what to draw. Then she said that we had to make our characters all wobbly like Roald Dahl art. I called mine Oscar. Oscar the King of giants. Have you ever read one of  Roald Dahl 's books?

Reading Theory

 This is Reading Theory it is a task we do for our reading rotation. It is a website and you do quizzes on reading stuff but it doesn't always tell the truth. This is one of my quizzes that I was doing. The level that I am on is Wayfarer. Have you ever done Reading Theory?

Compute It

This week our teacher showed us a game called Compute It. Compute It is a coding game it gets really tricky you have to read code and move the dot with the arrow keys on your computer. this is the level I found the hardest.

Interchange

Every Friday our school does a thing called interchange and you get to choose one thing and that is what you do for the rest of the term. I am in Arts and Crafts with my Mum and Chris today we made paper fish I made two fish.  The first one that I made was a one shaped like a  triangle and the second one has bumps on it.

Screencastify about Matific

This term we have been doing the Matific competition and so far our school is coming first place. Today is the last day for the competition this year, I am in seventieth place for year fours.

Things we did in Term 2

I Liked doing the Barbie and Lion writing the most and it was super fun. I learned how to write a poem and had lots of fun learning about Kenn Nesbitt. I felt proud of myself for making my first poem and for also finishing my Barbie and Lion Writing.

Cybersmart Art

Today Mrs Minehan talked to us about the images we use off the internet. We learnt that it is best to create our own, so she showed us how to download an image from the Explore tool onto Google Drawing and then we made it our own by using the Pollyline line tool to draw over it and colour it in. It was so much fun. Have you ever made your own images like this? My favourite part was to colour in the dragon in.

Making Autumn Leaf Sun Catchers

Today in Ruma Piwakawaka we made leaf sun catchers. This is how we made them, so first we painted the ring of a paper plate and left it to dry. Then we collected some coloured leafs and put them in a laminating sheet and laminated them. After that we cut the laminated sheets out and put the cut out ring around it that is how we made them. Have you ever made one and how did it turn out?

Science experiment

Today we did a science experiment and it was putting dye in water then we put a white flower in it. It took a couple of days but the flowers weren't changing colour that quickly. Then Mrs Swinburn added more dye into the water and now they look colourful. Have you ever done a science experiment and how did it look?

We have been learning maths with Mr Kinane he taught us how to say big numbers. We have been learning about peer mediation with Mrs Zuckerman she showed us how to deal with conflict and we did role plays. Every Friday Mrs Minehan comes in to show us things that we can do with our computers and she showed us how to make a self portrait on google draw. Every Tuesday we do PE with Helen we do lots of fun skills and I like doing PE. Every Thursday we do rippa rugby with Nobby we learn how to play rippa and do lots of skills. What have you done at your school this term?

Peer Mediation

We were leaning about conflict and Mrs Zuckerman said that conflict wasn't always bad. I enjoyed having Mrs Zuckerman she is really fun and nice.

A Great Classmate

We were writing about what a great classmate does, what a great classmate is like and what a great classmate does not do. I could have improved on adding my own ideas to the list on my slide.
